Student Ministries Schedule
ATTENTION! Student Ministries Moving to Two Services - 9:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12:
A primary goal of the Student Ministries staff on a Sunday morning is to meet students wherever they are on their spiritual journey as we prepare them to get into God’s word. One of the greatest needs of students is to be known individually by someone.
In 2008, Student Ministries moved their worship services to the Chapel’s former main Worship Room, giving them the extra space needed to effectively disciple students and allow for new growth in the future.
Now, two years later, about 400 students worship at the Chapel each week. God is truly doing great things in the lives of these middle and high school students. Just this summer, more than 200 students and leaders gave up time during their summer break to participate in mission trips to Nicaragua, D.C., and North Carolina.
Although this growth has been very exciting, the Student Ministries team has realized that they need to “divide to grow” to better serve our middle and high school students. Beginning Sunday, September 12, Student Ministries will begin a two-service format - with services at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., both open to all middle and high school students.
Dividing the students between two services will allow the Student Ministries’ staff and volunteers to get to know more of the students and to develop deeper relationships with them as they interact with them.
The shift to two services will also give Student Ministries more physical space for future growth to serve middle and high school students in this area.
As mentioned above, this change will begin on Sunday, September 12. The two-service format will generally follow the school calendar. When school is in session, there will be two services. When school is not in session (Christmas, spring, and summer breaks), there will be one Student Ministries service at 11:00 a.m.
