Pat Cummings

Pat Cummings was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and grew up in Bowie, Maryland. Pat began his relationship with Jesus after his sophomore year of high school. He went on to Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, where he played soccer, learned to surf, was on student staff with Young Life, and graduated in 1979 with a degree in Social Science. From there Pat moved to Orlando and taught American History and Psychology for one year before coming on the Young Life staff in 1980. He has served YL in Orlando; Manassas, VA; Chesterfield, VA; and, for the past 7 years, in Abingdon, VA, as regional director for the Blue Ridge Mt. Region. During this time on YoungLife staff, Pat earned his Masters Degree in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary.

While in Orlando, Pat met and married his wife Mary. They have 3 children: Tanner, Kyle, and Cameron. The final member of the family is Chey, the golden retriever.

Pat joined the Chapel staff in June 2008 and oversees Small Groups, Men’s and Women’s Ministries, and stage-of-life ministries.
