Next Steps - Get Connected

If you are new to the Chapel or have been part of the Chapel family for a while and are now ready to take the “next steps” in your journey of faith, we want to walk alongside you. At the Chapel, we celebrate a common pathway for our spiritual growth: Encounter-Embrace-Exercise-Engage. We encourage you to choose from the following opportunities to take your own unique steps along this common path of commitment here at the Chapel.

Encounter Jesus alive in this community

  • Attend Sunday Worship at 9 or 11 a.m. Arrive early to drop off children ages 6 mo. – 12th grade in their appropriate locations.
  • Stop by the Newcomers’ Corner on your Sunday visit and a Welcome Team member can help answer your questions and get you connected.
  • Attend a First Encounter Dinner in Chapel homes all over Williamsburg. Upcoming First Encounter Dinners: September 24. Register Here

Embrace Jesus and His community

  • Join a Sunday morning Connections Class or Vine Life Class on a topic of your choosing.
  • Join a Small Group. Small Groups are the main channel for discipleship and care for each person who is a part of our church family.
  • Get involved in a Community Ministry to study the Bible and get to know others in a smaller context
  • Get involved in a Congregational Care Ministry that meets the relational and emotional needs of our church.
  • Embrace Jesus through baptism. The ceremony of baptism is our way of going public with our decision to embrace Jesus as Lord and Savior of our life. Through baptism, we identify ourselves with Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection and proclaim our faith in Him.

Exercise faith in Jesus alongside His community

  • Meet one-on-one with a Ministry Connector to explore opportunities to use your gifts, talents, and passions to serve others at the Chapel and in our community.
  • View Top 10 Needs if you are ready to begin serving.
  • Volunteer in a Community Ministry or a Congregational Care Ministry.

Engage Jesus in His mission to grow His community

  • Commit to become personally involved in making disciples personally, locally, and globally.
  • Volunteer through Local Ministries to serve the needs in our own community.
  • Serve on a short-term mission trip.
  • Join a Global Missions Support team and connect with others who share your heart for what God is doing in a certain part of the world.
  • Attend a Chapel Membership Class to learn more about Chapel membership.
